Emma Bruno Passes Away at 102

It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Emma Bruno.  Emma passed away on Saturday January 28th; she was 102 years old.

Many of you know Emma Bruno through her varied community and civic involvements.  She had been a steadfast pillar of the Lake Ronkonkoma community for most of her life.  Emma's generosity through philanthropy and volunteerism was known by many.  She was honored by the Lake Ronkonkoma Civic Organization in 2006 as our Citizen of the Year (see photo below).

Emma Bruno had been an active member of the Lake Ronkonkoma Homemakers Club, the Friends of Sachem Public Library Club, the Lake Ronkonkoma Senior Citizen Club, the Lake Ronkonkoma Historical Society and the Lake Ronkonkoma Civic Organization. She was an avid gardener and was known to share her vast knowledge of Lake Ronkonkoma history with anyone who was interested.  Mrs. Bruno’s husband, Louis, passed away in 1991. 

Arrangements are as follows:

Wednesday February 1st:  Joseph A. Weber Funeral Home, 231 Hawkins Avenue, Lake Ronkonkoma, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Thursday February 2nd:    Funeral service to be held at Weber Funeral Home.  Internment at St. Charles Cemetery, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale
